Contacts Search Box goes away when clearing data to perform a 2nd search

The Contacts Search box goes away when the data gets cleared using “x”.  The user must again select the magnifying glass, then tap the Search box to open the keyboard, type the new search criteria for the 2nd search.    I tried using the “back arrow” on my keyboard to remove the text, with the same result, the search box goes away.  This causes the user 2 extra actions on each search, which adds up over time and impacts productivity.

In 2.0, the “x” clears the data from the search box, and the search box remains on the screen.  The user can then re-type new search criteria without requiring extra actions.

When the search box has been displayed in 3.0, it needs to remain on the screen until the user exits Contacts.

The only way someone will navigate contacts is using Search.
