Entering PIN on login screen is not an option

I am not able to use my PIN code for login (Android).  After setting up pin, ensuring Setting for PIN use is ON, the login screen still asks for Co ID, Username, PW.    The following are the steps I took and the results.

  1. Login screen – set PIN for future logins
    1. Login with company id, user, pw
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Select PIN Options
    4. PIN Options – is set to ON (see screen shot)
    5. Logout
    6. Close app
    7. Re-open app
    8. Login screen asks for Company ID, User Name, PW (see screen shot)

Kat, if you use the "Logout" button, it logs you completely out of the application. This means the next time you open the application, it is going to request your full set of credentials again.

The PIN functionality only works if, for example, you simply close the app and then open it again.

    Hi Adam,

There are many times when the App will shut down, which is the same as logging out.  When this happens, since none of the login information is saved, the tech has to re-enter all their login credentials.  If this is the way it is supposed to work, then please reinstate the "Remember" option so the techs don't have to re-enter data all the time.

That is not how the app should be working, Kat. Let me work with our development and QA teams to figure out what is happening. Just to confirm, you're using a Samsung Galaxy S6 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Have you found that there is any particular sequence of steps that causes the app to shut down?

Confirmed, I am using a Samsung Galaxy S6 running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow

It seems the shut down of the app may be related to those Service Notification messages that continually appear (and sound) on my phone.

I finally got a screen shot of one of the many “Service Notification” messages. When I try to click on that message to see more info, the notification goes away. They seem to come in bursts of 3-5 at a time, and mostly happen when I am not using my phone at all and the screen is off.

I have also seen a message saying the app is Offline (or something like that, immediately followed by a message saying I have connected to WiFi. I’m in my home office, and have no idea why my WiFi would be disconnecting and reconnecting so many times. That’s all I have been able to notice on this issue so far. If I find more details, I’ll pass it along. Thanks

Will an IOS update to the phones/tablet software cause us to have to completely re-login to the app before using the PIN?  Also would an app update cause us to have to completely re-login to the app before using the PIN?

If this is the case I would also vote to re-add the remember me feature.
